Spring Open Studio

It’s time again for Vermont Open Studio – so, never mind the weather, Spring must be on! My own approach to the event always varies depending on where I happen to be in my work schedule when Memorial Day weekend rolls around. Some years I plan a full show booth on the studio lawn, other years I arrange a gallery display indoors. This year I will be very much demonstrating the ‘working studio’ concept – expect to see a variety of projects in various stages of completion and one ceramic artist busily working away to move these projects along. One tile mosaic is being carved while another dries slowly, a few sculptural forms are at the final fussing stage, the kiln will probably get unloaded somewhere along the way…it’s a busy (and a bit messy) Open Studio for me this time around. And as an added bonus, as is usual on the Sunday morning, my studio will offer prime viewing for the Killington Stage Race – just a bit of extra excitement!

This state-wide event is brought to you by the Vermont Crafts Council – you can pick up a map as you tour around, or visit the VCC site for a download.  Open Studio official hours are Saturday 5/25 and Sunday 5/26 from 10:00 to 5:00. Come on by!
