Goodness, I’m overdue for a blog post. What on earth have I been doing? Well…lots…and, suddenly, it’s fall! Amazing how that happens.
It’s been a packed summer of whatever outdoor activities I could cram in, assorted personal commitments, and every possible moment of studio time. From tiles to tableware to large sculptural forms – I’ve been working on it all! The studio, quite frankly, is a shambles. Much of the work, however, has been quite satisfying and, as is typical for me, reflects the nature I’ve been able to immerse myself in this season (spoiler alert: birds!).
The hummingbird family came back to nest with us…
A variety of warblers passed through…
The indigo buntings and grosbeaks returned…
Wrens everywhere…
Swallows jostled with the wrens for the favorite nest boxes…
It was a wonderful summer for monarch butterflies, which was great to see…
And dragonflies…
The local ravens are never far away…
Inspiration everywhere!
